We are CHIMERA, a hardcore punk band from South Central Los Angeles, formed in 2022 out of our drummer’s garage.
Our members consist of Ryu (vox), Max (bass) Cameron (guitar), & Chris (drums).
Our main focus is to speak up on fem-forward and societal issues that others might be uncomfortable bringing up themselves. We also try to have fun playing music.
The lyrics derive from Ryu’s poems that she turns into songs, using music as a sort of catharsis for change. We plan on remastering our latest EP “Demons On Your Shoulder”, as well as tracking newer songs we currently perform live. The bass, drum, and guitar parts are all written by each instrumentalist respectively, and together we combine our musical chemistry to bring CHIMERA’s sound today.
